ALIVE [170510]
Dear livejournal friends of mine around the world of this galaxy,

It is without doubt that I am still alive. I've just turned 20 on May 2nd. Life is doing not so bad. You can catch me on Tumblr now.

New [131209]
Sorry for being absent or silent for the past couple of months. I'm writing this entry to let you know that I'm still alive. 2009 passed by so fast, too many things happened and I don't even know how to start writing about it here. However, I have a new blog up and running - http://khairilosman.com/blog/

And if you'd like to subscribe to my feeds - http://khairilosman.com/blog/?feed=rss2
Leave comments there, whenever you like! (Or you could indicate which livejournal user you were because I remember all of you)

I'll be updating very often there. Albeit, I really do miss this place. I may come back here, but I don't know yet. I do visit this place from time to time to catch up with other people's entries. I'm not going to delete this livejournal account I've had for 5 years (coming to 6 as of today). It feels like I grew up with it, so many memories here, so many souls reading this journal, so many ... everything. If livejournal won't end up deleting this account, I'll probably look back at it when I'm 10 years older. Somehow it's nice to have a part of your 'childhood' stored on the internet. Going through the old posts and comments made me feel alive once again.

Testing out the videocam for the first time and experimenting around. Recorded through my bedroom window. I've always had a thing about out-of-focus streetlights through the lens, they're magical.

I turned nineteen on may 2nd.

I've decided to make this five years of my livejournal account as friends only now for personal entries, but I will continue updating it now and then.

Juicier bits can be found at blog.khairilosman.com which I will be posting more regularly there with visuals.

As you can see, I have been very busy. Hence the silence in this journal. Now that the break is here, I have many things at the back of my head that I want to do. Aside from getting laid (kid), I plan to make necklaces and shit. So I'll be heading down to get materials soon and oh, I'm releasing my sites next month. I'll be in Jakarta (hopefully) around June. Two more weeks till I turn a year older.

Made this today for breakfast. Mini oatmeal loafs spread with blackcurrant jam and fresh sliced strawberries sprinkled with cinnamon on top! Real silly but it was delicious.

I can't express how much I fucking love this movie. Fucking badass.

Snake's Veil [270309]

Some recent photos I shot during studio photography class. Next week I'll be having a huge photoshoot which I'm looking forward to because I am excited for it albeit I'm rather exhausted with all the projects. Many, many things to accomplish this month and next. At the moment, I'm really happy. Oh, I like Placebo's new single 'Battle for the Sun' too. Great stuff.

Closing Cycles by Paulo Coelho [140209]
One always has to know when a stage comes to an end. If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through. Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters - whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.

Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship come to an end? Did you leave your parents’ house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long lasting friendship ended all of a sudden? You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened. You can tell yourself you won’t take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that. But such an attitude will be awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, your children, your sister, everyone will be finishing chapters, turning over new leaves, getting on with life, and they will all feel bad seeing you at a standstill.

None of us can be in the present and the past at the same time, not even when we try to understand the things that happen to us. What has passed will not return: we cannot for ever be children, late adolescents, sons that feel guilt or rancor towards our parents, lovers who day and night relive an affair with someone who has gone away and has not the least intention of coming back. Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away.

That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home. Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place. Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them. Nobody plays this life with marked cards, so sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Do not expect anything in return, do not expect your efforts to be appreciated, your genius to be discovered, your love to be understood. Stop turning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again, the one that shows how much you suffered from a certain loss: that is only poisoning you, nothing else.

Nothing is more dangerous than not accepting love relationships that are broken off, work that is promised but there is no starting date, decisions that are always put off waiting for the “ideal moment.” Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back. Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person - nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need. This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.

Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life. Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust.

Stop being who you were, and change into who you are.

A Dream For Us [130209]

Because I don't want to hide what I feel inside. It's you that got to me, it's what I want to sing. I've got a dream for us, running through my mind, sitting at the beach, looking at the sea and we're old and tired. And time has made us smile as we go on counting things. People in the breeze, we're not the only ones because there's hundreds on the shore looking at the sea.

But it's just you and me.

If the day never comes, if I sink beneath the tide, will you still be with me, or disappear?

10th Day Of The New Year [100109]

I'm tired but happy. (Although I might delete the picture later ;] ) Semester 2 has started and will be over 15 weeks from now. After that, I'll be doing more shoots with a few male & female models from everywhere. Excited 'bout that! I can't believe it's already the tenth day of the new year. I don't know why but the simplest things make me happy and content these days. I haven't been updating here much. Oh, I've been experimenting on music tracks lately too. My current obsessions are tomato juice, marlboro lights, french films and bedroom dancing. How are you?

2009 [010109]
"There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore, and who always will. So don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future."

Everything shall change for the better this year. Happy new year to all and cheers to 2009.

Magic Magic Marc [281208]

Pencil work of Marc Jacobs as a magician. I had good fun doing this. Anna Wintour next, maybe?

So 2008 was a roller-coaster. I had more downs than ups but of course, we have to look on the brighter side, don't we? The year is having a slow death like a fish out of water and perhaps, I have changed one way or another. Time scares me. All of a sudden I miss everything. Despite the case, I am never looking back. I'll keep moving forward. I'm guessing my biggest mistake this year is probably being a fool in trying to recreate the past. Nonetheless, I have learnt. To end off the year in a polite way, I've sent my regards and condolences to this year's romance.

Getting tight, fit and fresh is my next first mission for 2009 ;)

Sometimes when you lose, you win.

Your Horoscope - Tomorrow, December 9, 2008

This is a good day to create and to imagine, Khairil. Your mind could be buzzing with some interesting ideas. You'll probably want to spend some time pursuing projects of your own. Give yourself some private space in which to craft your visions. Think like an artist and honor your instincts today. You could come up with an exciting invention or an innovative strategy, so listen to those creative muses!

Sometimes it is quite silly and pathetic to read horoscopes, but I think it's intriguing. Mine often seem to turn out very very close. I'm inspired by constellations and I think aliens and UFOs exist. Maybe they will come in 2012.

I couldn't resist the black leather fabric I bought two months ago, so earlier this morning I decided to do something with the left overs. It's fun. It is of course not the best tailoring as I don't have much background about it, but I like how rugged & simple it is. I'm gonna wear this out soon.
